Cold storage rooms and freezing rooms according to individual requirements

ThermoTEC cold storage and freezing rooms have been specially designed for the storage of e.g. refrigerated medicines as well as active ingredients and excipients. They fulfill the storage requirements according to the European Pharmacopoeia.

An intelligent cooling system enables excellent homogeneous temperature distribution within the chambers. Thanks to the design of the evaporators and the type of control, forced defrosting - caused by icing - is not necessary for cooling rooms. By using an adsorption dryer to dehumidify the air, the risk of black mold formation can be prevented.

For freezing rooms, we recommend a redundant design of the refrigeration technology. In the event of a fault, there is an automatic switchover from system A to system B. Furthermore, there is regular switching between the two systems in order to achieve even capacity utilization. A redundant system is particularly useful in the deep-freeze range, as the other system takes over the function during the defrosting phase of the evaporator (icing). In addition, a shut-up system is installed in the ceiling chest. It closes the air outlet at the ceiling chest during the defrosting phase to prevent heat loss through convection and radiation. This ensures a linear temperature curve even during the defrosting phase.

The temperature is controlled and regulated using a Siemens S7-1200 programmable logic controller (PLC). The PID controllers are integrated into the PLC. All warnings and faults are also processed and evaluated here and the collective alarm relays are controlled. The parameter settings and the definition of the alarm limits are implemented via a color touch display (HMI). Settings can be changed depending on user rights.
