The ThermoTEC calibration laboratory

Accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018

Safety through accredited calibration

To ensure the accuracy and validity of measurement and test results according to various quality management systems, measuring and test equipment as well as test devices must be calibrated regularly. By using traceable measuring equipment and accredited procedures, we guarantee reliable measurement results for your processes.

The ThermoTEC calibration laboratory at the Weilburg site is accredited in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. The initial accreditation took place in 2014 and our aim is to offer customers the best possible advice with a high level of expertise and good service even before calibration. To this end, we are at your side with advice to discuss the right procedures and calibration points in advance.

Frequently asked questions about the calibration laboratory:

What do the methods in the DKD-R 5-7 guideline mean?

Method A - The usable space spanned by the sensors in the unloaded state is considered calibrated
Method B - Like method A, but for the loaded state
Method C - The calibration only applies to one measuring location in the climate chamber (usually the center of the test chamber)

How many temperature calibration points are usually recommended?
At least 3 points should be calibrated for the calibration of a range. If the range is is large, it may make sense to calibrate more than three points.

If the climate chamber is only operated under one condition, one point is sufficient. However, only this point is then considered calibrated. For this purpose, a corresponding note is noted on the calibration certificate.
What is the difference between calibration and adjustment?
During adjustment, the display deviation or display correction determined during calibration is adjusted accordingly. This requires intervention in the device. Attention: The calibration before the adjustment is then no longer valid and must be repeated after the adjustment.
What does drift (long-term stability) mean?
The drift (long-term stability) indicates how the measuring device or sensor has changed within its calibration interval calibration interval - usually 1 year.
What does hysteresis (short-term stability) mean?
Hysteresis is defined as the maximum difference between the measured values that occur when the same value of the measured variable is reached once from lower values and once from higher values.
