With ThermoTEC plant growth chambers, biological studies can be carried out regardless of geographical conditions. The temperature and humidity range is adapted to naturally occurring environmental conditions. Optimal growth conditions as well as extreme and rare climatic events can be simulated for your test plants.

The uniform and homogeneous air circulation and low air velocity within the chambers (< 0.3 m/sec.) achieve extremely high temperature and humidity constancy.

Depending on the required lighting intensity, the chambers are equipped with high-performance LED lighting ceilings. Alternatively, mobile shelving systems with illuminated shelves (several levels) with LED modules are available.

The chambers are controlled and the temperature, humidity and light intensity are regulated using Siemens S7-1200. Actual and set values, alarms and system parameters are displayed via a touch panel and can be changed according to user requirements. Daily cycles with a sunrise and sunset cycle as well as all other functions required for modern plant growth research can be programmed in real time.

Thanks to the modular design, the size of the chambers can be individually and customized to the local conditions.

How is uniform and homogeneous air circulation achieved so that the stored plants are affected as little as possible from the air distribution?
The preconditioned air is transported via a duct system into perforated sheet metal walls on both sides of the chamber and evenly blown out into the chamber. The material of the perforated sheet walls is stainless steel, white powder-coated, to improve light reflection.
What is the service life of the installed lighting technology?
In the case of LED lighting technology, due to the water cooling and the LEDs only operating at partial load, well over 100,000 hours of operating time can be expected.
What wave range can be realized for the walk-in plant growth chambers?
A wave range from 360 to 740 nm is possible.
What light intensity can be realized for the walk-in plant growth chambers?
The ThermoTEC plant growth chambers can achieve a light intensity of up to 2.500 μmol.
