Precisely adjustable Hettich Benelux PRC 1200 SL light climate chamber for growth experiments on Drosophila, fungi and spores

The Hettich Benelux PRC 1200 SL light climate chamber was specially developed for rearing Drosophila. It is also ideally suited for growth experiments on fungi and algae. The light intensity of the LEDs installed in both side walls is between 100 and 125 μmol, measured at an angle of 90° at a distance of approx. 25 cm. It can be regulated between 10 % and 100 % using a dimmer. Lighting with 400 μmol is optionally available. The spectrum of the white LEDs corresponds to 95 % of the spectrum of sunlight on a clear, cloudless day. Apart from the energy benefits compared to conventional fluorescent lamps, lighting with LEDs is characterized by a very homogeneous distribution of light and consistent luminosity even at lower temperatures. In addition, 99 % of the usable area can be used with LED lighting without limiting the light intensity. The so-called "dark corners" are avoided. A program controller is available for programming independently adjustable day/night cycles (temperature, humidity, light). This allows all control sequences of modern insect research to be easily implemented. For maximum accuracy, all heat sources such as lights and ballasts are installed outside the control room.
